Unique brides can rejoice. The limitations on color or style of wedding gown are gone.  Any color or color combination will work great for your wedding gown. Long or short, it doesn’t matter. You get to wear what you want to wear. But how do you choose? The options are almost unlimited.

First, answer a few questions to help you narrow down your options.

  1. What’s your favorite color? It’s usually a color that looks great on you. This color may complement your eyes, your skin tone, or just make you feel great.
  2. What’s the theme of your wedding? If you have chosen a theme, you may want to match your dress with that style.
  3. What type of personality are you? Do you prefer dressing down when you can, or would you rather dress to the nines for most occasions? Is vintage or modern a preference for you? Do you groan at the idea of fashion trends or do you embrace them?
  4. What causes you to weak in the knees from sheer delight? Darling bunnies? A gorgeous beach sunset? A stunning piece of artwork?

All of these things will help you narrow down your choices for wedding dresses. For example, if your favorite color is in the fuchsia, your wedding theme is romantic or Victorian, you love to dress up when you can, and jewels make you go weak in the knees, then this may be the perfect dress for you.

Narrow down your choices to those that you truly love, make a short list, then let it settle for several days. Allow your mind to filter it’s thoughts about those choices. Test out each dress on your short list with the shoes, the jewelry, even the hairstyle you want to have for your wedding. The right one will present itself and you will know. It’s your special day and you special time, so take the time to make your dress special, too.
